Opa-locka Heritage Trail
Historic Opa-locka

The 15-station outdoor trail is the city’s first-ever permanent historical experience that’s open to the public 24/7. Located in the historic downtown district, the Opa-locka Heritage Trail tells the founding history of the city, including the people, industries, and ideas that made it one of the most exciting places to be during the mid-to-late 1920s.

Funded by non-profit Ten North Group, this was a partnership between the City of Opa-locka and the Opa-locka Preservation Association.

The Trail begins at the historic fire and police station, located at 151 N. Perviz Avenue, Opa-locka, FL 33054, and continues south on Perviz Avenue until Ali Baba Avenue, and then goes north on Opa-locka Boulevard finishing behind historic city hall.

Founded in 2022, the Opa-locka Preservation Association (OPA) is dedicated to safeguarding the historic, architectural, and environmental character of Opa-locka, a uniquely storied city in Miami-Dade County, incorporated in 1926. Made up primarily of local homeowners and residents, OPA works to uplift and beautify both public and private spaces while fostering a deeper appreciation for the city’s rich 100-year history.

Through archival initiatives, digital campaigns, and preservation projects for historic residences, OPA ensures that Opa-locka’s past is honored and its legacy lives on. Your support helps sustain efforts of preservation, education, and community projects that celebrate Opa-locka’s heritage.
