Opa-locka Heritage Trail
Journey through the Opa-locka Heritage Trail and immerse yourself in a city unlike any other. Created in 2023 and unveiled to the public in 2024, this trail marks the city’s first permanent historical exhibition — a celebration of Opa-locka’s extraordinary architectural and cultural legacy.
This 15-station outdoor walk winds through the historic downtown core, highlighting the stories, people, and places that shaped the city’s remarkable past. Along the route, visitors will encounter five key landmarks that form part of the Opa-locka Thematic Resource Area, a registry recognized and managed by the U.S. Secretary of the Interior.
Featuring the nation’s largest concentration of Moorish Revival architecture, the Opa-locka Heritage Trail invites you to explore whimsical towers, domes, and courtyards inspired by the tales of Arabian Nights — all set against the vibrant spirit of 1920s South Florida.

The trail begins at 151 N. Perviz Avenue at the historic police and fire hall.
